Get Group Smart using Groofer

Groofer in beta is the place to find, share and discuss relevant news articles and blog posts with your team. You can join Groofer through Twitter, Facebook or Linkedin or you can register new and then login.

After confirming your email id, Groofer lets you create your keywords and profile. Based on your keywords, ‘My Groofer’ would be created that can be book marked and can be shared using Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. You can also flag the content if it is inappropriate to the keywords suggested by you.

You can find groups or can create a new Groofer group. You can

• Create a group and inform Groofer community about it using group profile
• Create your own custom feed list using Groofer’s list or using the upload feature
• Create group keywords so as to filter stream the content automatically for your group

Quixey: A Functional Search Engine

We are all familiar with standard search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. They would let you find information in the form of text, image, video et al.

But recently I came across Quixey, (still in beta stage) a functional search engine quite different from others. We use applications in our everyday life.  We use them in browser, phone, software and in social networks. Quixey helps you find applications to do what you want on an ever-growing number of platforms.

Log into Quixey and just explore the search engine. If you’ve not already registered, just request for an invite code and explore it.

Not only am I shown various applications for Mind Map but for various devices too!

You just type the right keyword for the application you require, Quixey just presents the results along with price details if any.

Quixey is really is a boon to professionals who use applications to present their ideas /concepts. 

 

Direct Access to Decision Makers

Recently I came across the White House Blog Post titled ‘Advise the Advisor – Your Direct Line to the White House’. A very innovative idea is being explored by White House as your opinion is sought for implementing innovation for the community and removing any obstacles if present.

I really liked the concept as it gives you direct access to White House.

Then I realized what if we implement this in our organizations. Since in some of the big organizations, decision makers do not have direct access with people who are implementing the projects, this sort of welcoming the opinion of others, especially those who are directly involved in the project would offer a way to identify hiccups in the project that can be eliminated.

For example, if an educational institution decides to introduce ERP for academic and administrative purposes, then the difficulties that may be faced by employees while adapting to new environment can be found out by seeing their individual opinions.

Of course, the use of CRM would enable you to get feedback about your products / services. But while on the go, how would you identify the obstacles and what measures you take to overcome them?

In organizations where ‘top-down’ approach is followed, this would pave way for getting closer to your people and solving the problems as suggestions also come from them.

This can be tried whenever new schemes /methods / approaches are introduced by organizations.
