According to ECAR Study of Faculty and Information Technology, 2017, faculty development program must not merely focus on helping faculty teach with technology but help faculty to adopt learner-centered instructional design as a way to foster student success.
According to the article titled ‘Student-Centered Learning in Higher Education’ published in International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, ‘Learner-centered methods of content delivery allow students the opportunity to control their learning since they require students to take responsibility for their learning by being actively involved in the learning process rather than simply passively receiving information from a lecture (Slunt & Giancario, 2004)’.
The main components of LCID (Learner Centered Instructional Design) are shown in the following figure.

As eLearning professionals we are familiar with LMS. So what is an LXP?
According to Pathgather’s website, LXP is a learning experience platform that ‘provides a personalized, social, online learning experience for users, typically employees at large enterprises. It consolidates disparate learning resources into a single portal’
Since learning happens anywhere, an LXP enables employees to discover more learning opportunities and allows them to manage well by offering various ways to collaborate and share their knowledge.
Though both are meant for providing courses and training, there exist few differences between them.
The following infographic that depicts the difference between LMS and LXP would help you realize why and what you should choose for your enterprise.
Need of the hour:
As employees work in various organizations, to clarify their doubts and to improve their performance they require micro learning and nano learning courses that enable them to improve their knowledge and perform well.
Normally LMS is meant for offering training programs that are mandatory. It doesn’t encourage the learners to explore new avenues as they are not allowed to act as curators. This disadvantage is overcome in LXP.
But since most of the LXPs integrate with LMS, the user of the former can access the content of latter thus enabling LXPs to be used for offering both mandatory training programs and user preferred learning programs.
You can contact the vendor and can customize them according to your requirements. The list is not final and hence you can suggest the ones I’ve not included here.
In this blog post let me explain the similarities and differences between Google Ads and Amazon Ads and finally inform you which one you should use to promote your business.
But still there are few differences between them.
Which one should you use?
It depends on your business goal.
If your intention is to create brand awareness or collect leads, then you should go for Google shopping ads. GSA (Google Shopping Ads) take the viewers directly to your landing page and provide an opportunity to showcase your product along with other products.
Even if they don’t buy it offers an opportunity to capture the visitor’s information by allowing him to subscribe to your newsletter or register for webinar etc
But if your intention is conversion, then you can opt for Amazon Ads as you are targeting a visitor who is already shopping or intend to buy.
Also keep in mind the different controls offered by each of them along with pricing. At Amazon you may have to sell your products at more affordable prize.
Therefore consider your business goal and depending on that choose the right platform by keeping in mind the similarities and differences between them.

I would like to ask all school admins, what is the ERP they are using if they have switched over to complete digitization. If not, they can explore Teno, a free to use mobile ERP for schools. Even if they are already using some, they can still explore the features of Teno and find out how it fares with the existing one.
‘Teno app allows school administrators, teachers and parents to stay connected at all times via real time messaging. Teno has comprehensive features ranging from user control management to multimedia messaging support’.
Teno enables
Teachers to have one-to-one chat with parents and offer feedback about the student’s performance
Schools to create class wise groups so that teachers can share important announcements, information with parents
Schools to share class work / homework in various doc, image and multimedia formats
Parents to make online fee payment
Teachers to take attendance so that school admits can get online reports
Interested in knowing how Teno works? Then watch the video given below.
The app can be used on Android, iOS and Windows based phones.
Google Expeditions is a virtual-reality (VR) teaching tool.
It enables you to swim with sharks, walk through a museum, visit outer space, and explore more wonderful experiences without leaving the classroom. There are nearly 500 expeditions available and more are in development.
The following video suggests how the classroom would be and how students experience the ‘Wow’ factor when Expeditions is used in classroom.
In case you are building your set, then you must have the following things
A mobile device, preferable tablet for the guide (teacher)
Mobile phones along with suitable VR viewers for learners
A router to allow the Expeditions to run over local wi-fi network
The mobile phone must have a gyroscope and accelerometer and 1 GB ram with Android 4.4 and later or iOS 8.0 and later
Next you have to download the Expeditions app on your mobile phone and select the role of ‘Guide’ if you are going to lead your class and click the ‘Lead’ button.
For learners, they can click the ‘Follow’ button and follow the guide.
You are now ready to immerse your learners with the VR experience that your learners would definitely enjoy.
